Admitted, operated on, home again: all in one day.
Here you will find everything you need to know to approach your procedure with peace of mind, step by step.
Outpatient (day) surgery
Outpatient surgery allows you to be admitted, operated on and return home the same day. You receive safe, modern and personalised care within an integrated day-surgery unit. It ensures effective pain management, reduces the risk of infectious and circulatory complications linked to length of stay, and lets you resume your usual activities more quickly.
Before your procedure
The anaesthetic consultation
Before your procedure, a consultation with the anaesthetist is arranged, either at the Centre or by phone. The appointment is sent to you by SMS, e-mail or post, as you prefer. The anaesthetist determines the most suitable type of anaesthesia (local with or without sedation, regional or general) and explains the pre-operative instructions (fasting, medication to stop or continue).

Going home — the same day, accompanied (mandatory).
The day after your procedure
You will receive an SMS with a few simple questions about your health. Depending on your answers, you will receive instructions by message or a call from a nurse.
Be alert — in the days that follow — Contact your GP or the services indicated at discharge if you experience: a fever above 38.5 °C, bleeding, chest pain or shortness of breath.
In an emergency, call your GP or the surgery / emergency services indicated when you were discharged.
Your safety
The identity bracelet
From the moment you arrive, the identity bracelet contributes to the safety of your care at every step. Throughout your pathway, checks are carried out and repeated (procedure, side to be operated on, allergies, surname, first name, date of birth…): this repeated procedure is a guarantee of safety.
